MULTI-BIT ADDER

To build a multi-bit adder we had to take our knowledge of basic gates (Nand, And, Or, XOr, Not) and combine them to build a basic adder. The premise of an adder is that if 1 button is pushed the Sum light will turn on, but if 2 buttons are pushed the Sum light will be off while the Carry light will be on. If 3 buttons are pushed both the Sum and Carry light will be on.
In building this we built several single adders, then chained them together to make a multi-bit adder. This project was helpful in visualizing how basic logic gates work, and in further understanding how different gates work when combined with other gates.
